Film Recipes: How to Tune Your Own Digicam Look

Every film has four sliders: color, highlights, shadows, grain. How to tune one, save it, and get the stock look back.

Want it grainier? Go for it. Every film comes tuned the way we like it. A recipe is that film, plus your own tuning on top.

Finding it

Settings, then Film Recipes. Or tap the film name in the camera and it’s there too. Pick a film from the recipe bank and the preview updates above.

Each runs from minus five to plus five. Zero is stock.

Move the sliders until the preview looks right. Tap Save Recipe. From now on, that film shoots your way, in the camera and in the editor.

Reset. Stock look, back in one tap. You can’t break anything in here.

Does a recipe change photos I already took?

No. It applies from the next shot on. To redo an older shot, open it in the editor from the gallery.

Can I keep more than one recipe per film?

One saved tuning per film. Reset clears it.

Any photo in your library can get a film. Import it, pick a look, compare with the original, and save a new copy.
